Life Imitates Art: "House" hospital of the hit FOX TV series is about to become a reality

From www.rmjmpress.com:

Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital has played home to Hugh Laurie’s character and the staff of doctors on the drama House over the past five season.  Now, in the latest case of life imitating art, the well-established laceName w:st="on">PrincetonlaceName> laceType w:st="on">HospitallaceType> will relocate to none other than Plainsboro, New Jersey

Scheduled for completion in 2011, the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (UMCPP) is a joint venture between architectural firms RMJM and HOK at a cost of over $440 million. Even the sardonic Dr. Gregory House would approve of the new hospital as it will feature high-tech facilities to streamline the patient’s experience from admission to discharge, including self-check-in kiosks.

“The UMCPP will be one of the most modern hospitals in the country and will attract top medical minds from around the world," says Peter Morrison, chief executive officer of RMJM. "It is purely coincidence that the TV show House is now set to become a reality, but we look forward to creating what we hope will be a much-loved centre of excellence, just like House.”

The teaching hospital for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will be the centerpiece of the new 160-acre healthcare campus that will also include a medical office buildingersonName w:st="on">,ersonName> a skilled nursing facility, a health education center, a fitness and wellness center, a senior residential community and a 32-acre public park.
